ST DENYS COMMUNITY CENTRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF HIRE
- The Management Committee reserves the right to refuse bookings and shall not be liable for any loss to the prospective hirer
- The Management Committee reserves the right to cancel a booking by giving notice in writing to the hirer at any time and shall return to the hirer any monies paid, but shall not be liable for any loss sustained as a result of the cancellation
- Any additional equipment required other than that provided by the Management Committee is the responsibility of the hirer; such equipment shall not be left on the premises without prior consent. In the event that equipment is left the Management Committee reserves the right to make reasonable charges for its removal
- In the event of breakdown, leakage or accident, whatsoever rendering the closure of the facility or any interruption of any booking either before or during the booking or if repairs or renewal consequent on any such breakdown, leakage or accident the Management Committee and any persons acting under their directions shall not be held responsible by the hirer
- The Management Committee will not accept liability for any loss, damage or injury how so ever and by whom so ever caused, whether to property or persons, sustained by any person or persons on the premises
- No organisation, booking the facilities may grant broadcast or filming rights without prior consent of the Management Committee. Southampton City Council reserves the right to be party to any such negotiations
- Payment shall be by cash or cheque, made payable 7 days prior to the date of hire, payment may still be due for any cancellation received within 5 days prior to the event
- Any event that proceeds beyond its allotted time by more than 15 minutes may be liable to excess charges at least equivalent to the normal booking rate, time must be allowed for the setting / cleaning up of rooms within the time booked
- The hirer shall leave a deposit of £30 to ensure the safe custody and return of keys, the deposit will be not be refunded in the event of the loss of keys. In the circumstances that keys are lost all immediate efforts must be made to advise a member of the Management Committee
- This facility in line with all other Southampton City Council premises operates a “No Smoking” policy, please ensure all Fire Doors and Exits are kept clear at all times
- Hirers using the facility are required to ensure that inconvenience to our neighbours or other Centre users is kept to a minimum, the Management Committee reserves the right to reduce noise levels, failure to do so will result in loss of the deposit
- Hirers are responsible for leaving rooms in a clean and tidy condition, kitchen equipment must be washed and placed back from where it came, all rubbish must be bagged and placed in the bins provided. Furnishings shall not be taken outside the building or moved from one room to another without prior permission, all spillages should be removed immediately
- Loss or damage to equipment, fixtures and fittings must be reported as soon as possible, hirers must accept financial responsibility for any such losses or damage. Drawing Pins, Sellotape, Blu-tac etc, should not be used to affix items to walls
- The Community Centre insurances do not cover hire group individual activities; groups using the centre do so at their own risk. Organised groups using the Centre are expected to arrange their own insurance cover, evidence of this fact may be asked for
- The drinking, dispensing or selling of alcohol is not permitted on the premises without prior permission / authorization being given by the Management Committee. The 2003 Licensing Act requires all events of a temporary nature wanting to partake in the consumption of alcohol be sanctioned by the Police and Local Authority Licensing Unit. A Temporary Events Notice must be sought and sanctioned allowing 10 working days notice before the event
- Vehicles are left at the owners risk the obstruction of other vehicles, pathways or gates are not permitted
- Gambling for profit is strictly forbidden on these premises
- The subletting of rooms is strictly forbidden
- Hirers using the MUGA are to comply with the regulations for Community use including “No Smoking, Food or Alcohol”
